The site, zone by zone
Most farms buy cleaning from one contractor, cutting from a second, groundworks from a third, cabins from a fourth, switchgear from a fifth and HV works from a sixth — then spend the month coordinating them. Pick a zone to see what we cover there.
Everything above the ground line: modules, glass, cabling and the frames holding it up. This is where output is won back.
Several hundred acres of it. Left alone, growth shades the bottom row — and the biodiversity commitments in your planning consent quietly go unmet.
Tracks, trenches, drainage and fence line. Built at construction, then worn down by every heavy vehicle and every wet winter that follows.
Where the site team actually works. Supplied as finished container units, craned in and connected — not built from scratch on your critical path.
Switchgear, protection and everything downstream of the string. Supplied, replaced and maintained by people who are on the same site every week anyway.
Everything between the inverter output and the grid. The HV side of the site: substation, transformers, cables and the paperwork the network operator wants before it energises.

Core
Scheduled cleaning cycles, block by block, logged as we go. Frequency set to your site's soiling rate, not a generic calendar.
Dry rotary systems for sites with limited water or restricted discharge.
Infrared flyover to locate hotspots, dead strings and cracked cells.
String-level measurement to separate soiling loss from real faults.
Removal, handling and swap of cracked or degraded modules, with serial records.
Re-torquing, clamp checks, alignment and tracker greasing.
Connector re-crimping, cable dressing and junction box repair.
New modules laid, clamped and torqued to spec, with serial capture as they go on.
Table erection, purlins and rail alignment on piled or ballasted frames.
Core
Cut on a growing-season cycle so growth never reaches the bottom row. Arisings cleared, not left piled under the tables.
Targeted treatment by PA-certificated operators, with COSHH records.
Boundary hedges trimmed outside nesting season, laid or coppiced as needed.
New planting to meet landscape and screening conditions, with aftercare.
Margins, meadow mixes, hibernacula and bird and bat boxes.
Delivery and monitoring against your BNG plan, with evidence for the reports.
Surveys, sward assessment and grazing or cutting regimes that actually suit the site.
Japanese knotweed, ragwort and thistle. Treatment plans, follow-up visits and the records your landlord and insurer ask for.
Burrowing under pile foundations and rodents chewing DC cable — dealt with before it costs you a string.
Sheep grazing agreements, stock fencing, water and welfare checks where grazing beats cutting.
Stone tracks, passing places and inverter hardstanding — built to take a low loader in February, not just a van in June.

Bowsers, storage tanks, pumps and waste tank servicing.
Extinguishers, signage, first aid and spill kits, with refill schedules.
Gate cabins, CCTV towers and SIA-licensed guards on shift rosters.
Compound and gate lighting, plus generator or battery backup.
Towers, perimeter detection and monitored alarms. Cable theft is the most expensive thing that happens to a solar farm.

Supply and replacement of DC and AC switching, protection and surge devices — recognised makes, with test certificates and warranty papers.
String combiner boxes and DC boards: assembly, rewiring or replacement.
Filter cleaning, fan checks, torque checks and support for firmware visits.
Oil checks, bushing cleaning, relay testing and breaker servicing.
Pit testing, resistance measurement, tape repair and arrester checks.
Cable glanding, lug crimping and infrared scanning of boards under load.
Held stock of fast-moving spares, so a failed switch isn't a week of downtime.
Periodic inspection and EICR reporting to BS 7671, with any remedial works priced off the same visit.
Half-hourly metering, meter operator and data collection appointments, and settlement queries chased on your behalf.
Authorised Person cover for HV switching, permits to work and safe access to the substation.
Substations designed, built and delivered as a finished unit up to 33kV — craned onto your base and terminated, instead of assembled in a field over six weeks.
