Solar Site Care

Home  ·  Services

Everything on the site,
on one contract.

Sixty-four services grouped by where on the plant the work happens. Four are what most farms call us in for; the rest are what we end up doing once we're on site every week.

The site, zone by zone

Six zones.
One crew list.

Most farms buy cleaning from one contractor, cutting from a second, groundworks from a third, cabins from a fourth, switchgear from a fifth and HV works from a sixth — then spend the month coordinating them. Pick a zone to see what we cover there.

Services

The full scope.

Four services are what most farms call us in for. The rest are what we end up doing once we're already on site every week — priced per module, per acre, per metre or per unit, on a fixed schedule.

A

The array

9 services
A crew in hi-vis cleaning module rows with reach-and-wash poles

Core

Panel cleaning

Scheduled cleaning cycles, block by block, logged as we go. Frequency set to your site's soiling rate, not a generic calendar.

  • Tractor-mounted rotary brush for long rows
  • Reach-and-wash poles for edge and tight rows
  • Deionised water, no detergents
  • Block-wise completion log, shared same day

Waterless & brush cleaning

Dry rotary systems for sites with limited water or restricted discharge.

Thermal drone survey

Infrared flyover to locate hotspots, dead strings and cracked cells.

String & IV-curve testing

String-level measurement to separate soiling loss from real faults.

Panel replacement

Removal, handling and swap of cracked or degraded modules, with serial records.

Frame & tracker servicing

Re-torquing, clamp checks, alignment and tracker greasing.

MC4 & DC cable repair

Connector re-crimping, cable dressing and junction box repair.

Panel installation & mounting

New modules laid, clamped and torqued to spec, with serial capture as they go on.

Mounting structure & steelwork

Table erection, purlins and rail alignment on piled or ballasted frames.

B

The land

10 services
Grass and a mown access track running between rows of solar panels

Core

Grass cutting & vegetation management

Cut on a growing-season cycle so growth never reaches the bottom row. Arisings cleared, not left piled under the tables.

  • Flail and rotary cutting between and under tables
  • Strimming around piles, fences and inverter stations
  • Two to three cuts, March to October
  • Arisings removed where BNG requires it

Weed control & spraying

Targeted treatment by PA-certificated operators, with COSHH records.

Hedge cutting & management

Boundary hedges trimmed outside nesting season, laid or coppiced as needed.

Tree & hedge planting

New planting to meet landscape and screening conditions, with aftercare.

Wildflower seeding & habitat

Margins, meadow mixes, hibernacula and bird and bat boxes.

Biodiversity Net Gain

Delivery and monitoring against your BNG plan, with evidence for the reports.

Ecology & agronomy advice

Surveys, sward assessment and grazing or cutting regimes that actually suit the site.

Invasive & injurious weeds

Japanese knotweed, ragwort and thistle. Treatment plans, follow-up visits and the records your landlord and insurer ask for.

Rabbit & rodent control

Burrowing under pile foundations and rodents chewing DC cable — dealt with before it costs you a string.

Grazing management

Sheep grazing agreements, stock fencing, water and welfare checks where grazing beats cutting.

C

The groundworks

10 services
An excavator moving earth on a rural site

Access tracks & hardstanding

Stone tracks, passing places and inverter hardstanding — built to take a low loader in February, not just a van in June.

  • Stone access tracks and passing places
  • Hardstanding for inverters and substations
  • Pothole repair, grading and planings topping
  • Reinstatement and seeding on completion

Cable trenching & ducting

Trenching, ducting, bedding sand, warning tape and backfill to spec.

Drainage & erosion repair

Swales, culverts, headwalls and refilling washouts around pile foundations.

Fencing, gates & boundaries

Deer, stock and security mesh fencing; gates, posts and boundary repair.

Levelling & reinstatement

Regrading, topsoil replacement and seeding after works or cable pulls.

Road sweeping & waste

Keeping mud off the public highway, plus scrap and packaging clearance.

Plant hire & haulage

Excavators, dumpers and telehandlers with operators; low-loader transport.

Storm & flood response

Washouts, blocked culverts, fallen trees and damaged fencing cleared after a named storm.

Concrete foundations & slabs

Bases and slabs for inverter stations, substations and welfare compounds.

Piling & foundation works

Driven pile installation, pull-out testing and remediation of failed piles.

D

The compound

8 services
Rows of insulated site cabins on a compound

Core

Container buildings

Site offices, control rooms, mess rooms, drying rooms, security cabins and stores. Built off site, delivered finished and set on your base.

  • 20ft and 40ft units, new or refurbished
  • Anti-vandal steel, insulated and double glazed
  • Wiring, heating, lighting and plumbing fitted
  • Delivery, craning and levelling included

Welfare units & toilet hire

Towable and static welfare, chemical and mains toilets, on service contract.

Fit-out & relocation

Partitions, furniture, racking and extra sockets; lifting units as the site changes.

Water, tanks & sanitation

E

The switchroom

10 services
A switchroom lined with switchgear cubicles

Core

Switches & switchgear

Supply and replacement of DC and AC switching, protection and surge devices — recognised makes, with test certificates and warranty papers.
